Overview
CurbPage has its own vocabulary, and getting comfortable with it makes everything else in the Help Center easier to follow. This glossary covers every core term you'll run into across the platform, grouped by where you'll encounter them.
Dashboard
Dashboard The first thing you see when you log in. It's a real-time snapshot of everything that needs your attention: active transactions, upcoming and overdue Tasks, recent client activity, and Notifications, all in one place.
Clients
Clients CurbPage's CRM, and the system of record for every contact in your business, whether they're an active client, a past client, or a lead.
Individuals A client record for a single person.
Organizations A client record for an entity made up of multiple individuals, like an LLC or a group of investors, rather than a single person.
Client Status Where a client currently stands in your book of business. There are five:
Status | What it means |
Potential | A prospective client with no active or pending transaction |
Active | Currently involved in an active transaction |
Pending | Part of an active transaction that's in the Contract to Close stage |
Past | Part of a closed or archived transaction |
Snoozed | Has asked not to receive communications |
Tags Fully customizable labels you create yourself to organize and segment clients, transactions, or Tasks (for example, "First-Time Buyer" or "Investor").
Transactions
Transactions The atomic unit of CurbPage. Each one represents a single deal, either a Buying transaction or a Selling transaction, and is where every part of that deal gets managed end to end.
Transaction Status Where a transaction currently stands. There are six:
Status | What it means |
Potential | A prospective deal that hasn't become active yet |
Active | Underway and in the Pre-Contract stage |
Pending | Under contract and in the Contract to Close stage |
Post-Close | Past its Closing Date, but still an active transaction with post-closing steps remaining |
Completed | The full timeline has been completed |
Cancelled | A deal that was started but never closed |
Transaction Timeline The full sequence of Milestones, Tasks, and Contingencies that make up a transaction, organized into three default sections: Pre-Contract, Contract to Close, and Post-Closing.
Transaction Tracker The client-facing, fully customizable view of a transaction's progress. You control which steps appear and how they're labeled, and this is what surfaces on your client's Client Experience Hub.
Milestone A major checkpoint within a transaction's timeline. Most Milestones are status-driven (they move forward when the work is done), while the major Milestones (Listing Date, Contract Acceptance Date, Closing Date) are anchored to specific calendar dates.
Task An individual, trackable action item nested inside a transaction's Milestones. Tasks can be assigned, given due dates (fixed or calculated relative to an anchor date), and marked complete as the work gets done.
Contingency A dependent Task, one that's conditional on another Task being completed first. Contingencies are how you represent a step that can't move forward until something else clears (for example, a financing contingency that depends on loan approval).
Price The sale price of the home in a given transaction.
Commission The commission percentage and commission rate (in dollars) associated with a transaction.
Listing Date The date a Selling transaction goes live. It's one of the major, calendar-anchored Milestones on a Selling transaction, and it's where relative Task scheduling for the earliest steps of a sale starts counting from.
Closing Date The date a transaction is set to close. It's a major, calendar-anchored Milestone on both Buying and Selling transactions.
Tasks
Assignee The team member responsible for completing a given Task.
Viewer Someone who can see a Task and its updates, but isn't responsible for completing it. Viewer access is read-only.
To-Dos
To-Dos Your personal, cross-transaction action list. Unlike Tasks, which live inside a specific transaction, To-Dos pull together everything you're personally on the hook for, no matter which deal it belongs to.
Stickies
Stickies Digital sticky notes inside CurbPage, used for reminders or quick-reference information that doesn't need to live inside a specific transaction, Task, or To-Do.
Your Workflow
Your Workflow The toolkit that powers CurbPage's automation. It's made up of six pieces: Transaction Blueprints, Email Templates, the Client Experience Hub, the Learning Center, Vendors/Partners, and Tags.
Calendar
Calendar A unified view that pulls together every date-driven Milestone and Task across all of your active transactions, so you can see what's coming up without opening each transaction individually.
Emails
Emails When your email is integrated, this is where you can see, send, and receive the full back-and-forth between you and your client, including attachments, directly from within a transaction.
Notifications
Notifications Real-time alerts that keep you and your team informed as things happen: a Task is completed, a Milestone is hit, a client takes an action in their portal, or something needs your attention. Notifications can be delivered in-app, by email, or (coming soon) push.
Documents
Documents Files tied to a transaction, whether they were uploaded directly to a Task, attached to a Milestone, dragged and dropped in, or sent through the transaction's Email tab. Anything not sorted into a specific step lands in an unsorted area until you organize it, and every document can be individually toggled visible or hidden to your client.
Vendors, Partners
Vendors, Partners The third parties involved in a deal, like lenders, title companies, photographers, and inspectors. Vendors live in Your Workflow, and on each transaction you control which ones are visible to your client in their portal.
Email Templates
Email Templates Pre-written, client-facing emails tied to specific Blueprint Milestones, so the right message goes out at the right moment without drafting it from scratch every time.
Client Experience Hub
Client Experience Hub Your client's live, agent-branded window into their transaction: their timeline, their team, their documents, and their vendors, all reflecting the work you've done inside the transaction in real time.
Learning Center
Learning Center Educational content you can share with clients directly through their Client Experience Hub, helping first-time buyers, sellers, or anyone unfamiliar with a step understand what's happening and why.
What's next
New terms tend to make the most sense in context. If something here still feels abstract, the Your first transaction walkthrough article is the fastest way to see most of these terms in action.
